TEACHING IS A TEST

Just returned from Lahinch where I was holding a workshop for a small group of amateur collogues. A very pleasent and rewarding time. Perfect locations and light constantly changing. But it reminded me of two remarks made by a friend. "Sometimes we forget how much we know" and "Teaching can expose how little we know".

TEST RESULTS

What does LMPA stand for?. In terms of framing, what does 'encapsulation mean'?. Why does a tripod have three legs?. If these questions have a familar ring to them then you have just received your results from the City and Guilds Progression Award in Photography exam. If you competed and were successful, well done. If you set the questions, send me a signal and I will organise a rescue committee to free you from your place of sadness.

ART OF SEX

I like to ease into Sundays. A coffee in my local Sand Bar and watch the day unfold. The cover of Sunday Independent Life mag shouted the headline " IN CAMERA. MIKE BUNN AND THE DARK ART OF SEX ". Im rushing to get a copy. But am a little pissed off that I was omitted from his guest list.

BACK TO WORK

After a season of laziness and renewal it's comforting to return to base to discover i was not missed. Attended the Abbey Theatre special meeting to record the moment for the archives and met a cluster of collegues assigned to capture the moment. Standing well back i observed Eithne Healy giving an end of meeting interview to the group. To my amazement a TV cameraman pushed so close to Eithne that his lens was aprox 9 inches from her face. Eithne's attitude was calmness and grace and so was the response of my collegues. One politely requested that he move back and allow a clear view of the subject. This new protocall is very worrying. In my day he would have received a k**k in the ****.
